What is the difference between SEO and SEM? 

Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing. There are many differences, but essentially you pay for SEM, whereas SEO is traditionally organic. 

In simple terms, you'll pay a search engine (such as Google) in order to rank. Although it can be fairly straightforward, depending on the competition and cost of clicks it can be incredibly complicated, profitable and expensive (all at the same time!).

That doesn't mean that you don't have to 'pay' for SEO, as it is a complicated and layered, and there are often other costs that could include content creation, back-linking costs, and placement fees. 

 

How long from when I engage you to when you start? 

Good question. It really depends on how ready you are. We usually like to ask a few questions and understand your goals and what you want to achieve. Our process follows the same format - Agree on whether we are a good fit, sign some documents (NDA/SLAs and formal agreements), and then we set you up on our project management system before commencing the work. In terms of a timeline, we can get going within a day, but typically it take s a few weeks to get started. 

What guarantee do I have that you will work? 

If anyone's guaranteeing anything in digital, it's probably not that difficult. We take a slow and steady approach with complete visibility over the work that we do, so, we guarantee that you will be able to see all the work that we do, and we are very comfortable that in doing this, we'll be able to help drive improvements and growth that you will be happy with. 

How and when do you charge? 

We take a commercial approach to how we charge. We have a flat fee hourly structure, however, if budget is a concern we are also happy to work with you on performance-based pricing model. We usually charge on completion of projects, or by monthly intervals (i.e. if your project goes for more than 1 month, we'll charge you at months end for the work completed to date).
